I started making prints a few years ago after my friend Eva Kroon taught me to do them with a rubber stamp. Initially I only used dollar store erasers. I cut into them and then used stamping ink to colour them. I’ve since expanded into larger pieces of rubber (hard and soft) and lino. I also use water based ink and I bought a brayer. Progress!
Sam Bradd helped me enormously when I was struggling with a lack of knowledge about what the hell I was doing.
I’m working on two series — things I’m afraid of and radio/tv/film production images — as well as a bunch of random things that come to mind.
I was thrilled to have ‘Produce’ selected for the CARDED! 2009 art card trading show and a derivation of the Dalek will be in Hot One Inch Action 2010.
Some of the prints below don’t have enough contrast and look a bit pasty. I’ll fix those when I’m back in Vancouver and have all my gear out again.
